A pastor has been arrested by the Abia state police command for running a baby factory and an illegal medical centre in his church.

The pastor identified as Christopher Adebanya Tochukwu ran the baby factory at his church in Faulks Road Aba area of Abia state.

Commissioner of Police in Umuahia, Adeleye Oyebade, who confirmed the arrest on Monday, June 5, revealed that the police carried out the arrest after the command received a tip on the activities of the pastor.

Oyebade disclosed that a team of officers stormed the church premises after proper investigation was done to confirm the tip.

He also revealed that the five pregnant girls were rescued from the church premises which doubled as a baby factory.

According to Oyebade, one of the rescued pregnant girls revealed that she was allegedly defiled by the suspect while another claimed that the pastor attempted to defile her.

One of the girls alleged that her two month old baby was taken from her by the pastor’s wife who was nowhere to be found during the operation.

Meanwhile, a newborn baby was also rescued from the factory and taken to an orphanage for custody.
